Say No to "Hot" Dogs!

The next three days may be a heat wave for the New England record books and with that comes the responsibility of keeping your pet safe from the heat. Not taking the right precautions can endanger your pet.

1)  Always keep abundant fresh water available for your pets.
2)  Do not keep your dog in a parked vehicle where the heat can climb quickly and potentially kill your pet due to organ damage.
3)  If your dog has a thick coat of fur, consider a summer cut.  We have capacity on Wednesday for a few more dogs for summer cuts.  Call the concierge at 617-464-4364 to make an appointment.
4)  Do not expose your dog to asphalt any longer than absolutely necessary.  Asphalt retains heat and remember, your pets are a lot closer to the ground than you.
5)  If you use a pet walking service, give instructions about what you expect in terms of adjustments to exposure to asphalt and the elements.
6)  If you own a business with foot traffic, put out some water for our four legged friends.

Fenway Bark's ocean front location keeps your dog nice and cool with ocean breezes and low exposure to asphalt.

Does your dog like to jump in the water?  Our bone shaped pool is available for all the dogs on our large lawn.

Stay safe!  For more tips, see MyDogIsCool.com.
