Fenway Bark featured in an article in New England Magazine!
Although Boston was rated fourth worst City to have a dog only a few short years ago by Men's Magazine, the picture has changed significantly, as Teri Borseti notes in New England Magazine, and Fenway Bark Stay.Play.Heal. has played a big role in that change.
We take great pride in helping set higher expectations for customers and setting the bar higher for pet care.

What is your dog doing while you are at work?
Dog enrichment is important and Fenway Bark recognizes the importance of enrichment in its activities and design. Dogs don't need to come to daycare every day for enrichment but a couple of days a week can make a big difference to the mental health of your dog. For more information please read an article from the ASPCA.
Fenway Bark has daycare hours from 6:30 am until 8 pm because we recognize that not everyone works 9 - 5.
Additionally, we offer special evening "daycare" for events at the Bank of America Pavilion, sporting events, etc. Five hours of evening care is $22 (your dog must be fully registered with vaccines and health requirements on file). Enjoy your event, an adult beverage, perhaps dinner and know that you don't have to rush home to let your dog out because, as Chloe and Tony demonstrate in the videos, they are just fine and will be nice and tired when they return to you after your fun evening!
Reservations required.

Fenway Bark’s Shelter Sundays
Back in February, we had an event at Fenway Bark called "Puppy Love" that was a huge success so we decided to continue our efforts to give back to shelters and rescues by offering a space to one shelter each Sunday to help with their efforts and hopefully find some much deserving animals a forever home!
Beginning on Sunday May 22nd, we’ll be featuring a different shelter on Sundays (excluding holidays).
Join us on Sunday May 22 from 1:00 – 3:00PM to meet the adoptable animals from QUINCY ANIMAL SHELTER
The Quincy Animal Shelter is a 100% volunteer-run organization. The Shelter has NO PAID STAFF and relies completely on our volunteers and the community for support. Incorporated in November 1999 as a non-profit Massachusetts charity, and also a recognized charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Since 1999 the Quincy Animal Shelter has placed more than 5,000 cats and dogs into loving and forever homes through out MA and New England.
As a "no kill" shelter, they make every effort to find the right home for every animal in their care. That means they exercise the same ethical and humane treatment of animals in their facility that you would for your own family feline or canine friend. Every animal receives age-appropriate vaccinations and, if old enough, is spayed or neutered before finding its forever family.
Delivering this type of care involves many volunteers, an active and dedicated management, and a lot of money. Their budget runs approximately $100,000 every year in order to keep doing what they do to help the dogs and cats of Quincy.
The capacity at the Shelter is limited to a maximum of 12 dogs and 15 to 25 cats, depending on ages and condition of the cats. Their dream is to eventually find a larger facility so they can continue their mission on a larger scale and serve the continuous needs of the community and the animals.
Quincy Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 690088, Quincy, MA 02269

Ten percent of any purchase made between 12 and 3 pm on Shelter Sundays will be donated to the featured shelter to further their mission. So even if your home can't accommodate another pup or cat right now, the purchase of your weekly supplies at Fenway Bark during adoption Sundays will benefit their cause. Make your plans to shop on Sunday at Fenway Bark to benefit the shelter who is featured that day.
Please tell your friends, co-workers and family about Adoption Sundays at Fenway Bark and help homeless animals find new forever homes and raise money toward their mission by doing your weekly errands for your pets!

Grand Opening on May 1, 2011!! Come join us from 3 - 8 pm!
We are so excited about the Grand Opening for Fenway Bark on May 1, 2011!!
We have been open for a month but we want to memorialize what has been an epic up hill battle to open a business in this economy and having overcoming what might have otherwise been business sinking salvos coming from so many directions.
The salvos came in so many forms; permits issued in error or in delay, financing that was slow to materialize, hiring the right staff to go the distance, and more. Like a dog with a bone, resilience was the name of the game and indeed, we learned what resilience really means.
We also learned what it means to be loyal. Through the worst of our delays, we were loyal to the employees we hired and kept them employed to avoid contributing to already dismal unemployment numbers in South Boston. We did so with our own capital because, simply, we felt it was the right thing to do when people left other jobs to take a leap of faith with a start up. Their loyalty to us during the difficult days during the delays will always be remembered. Those who lifted spirits and looked for opportunities to grow I hope will stay with us for a long, long time.
We have legions of business supporters who have been patient with us as we have brought this business to life and I want to take a moment to let you know about their support of small business so that if you are in need of similar services, you can think of them.

I have probably forgotten to mention a few and if I have, I'll be sure to mention them in future updates.
We also have had the immeasurably important support of our families and friends and we are so grateful to each and every one of them. There were moments in this journey that I felt like George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life" where all his friends and family come to the rescue in terms of support. Remember, whenever a bell rings, an angel gets its wings!
And now, after training our staff, ensuring each of them is trained in CPR and First Aid, building our facility, and collaborating together to build one of the best dog and cat care facilities arguably anywhere, we are here for you for boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and all pet retail products. We will be opening physical therapy center in the summer.
At this juncture we need you, the customers, to help keep our small business buoyant and we hope that you will come see us soon, see what we about, and let us earn your confidence. We know we will.
We invite you to read our Facebook and Yelp reviews to see what our customers are saying about us.
Between now and April 30 we are offering a special deal to our customers. If you purchase 20 days of daycare at one time, we will give you $100 in facility credit and if you buy a 60 days, a $300 credit. For this limited time, we are offering the same credits for our boarding packages.
What can you do with your credits?
Purchase your pet food, tick medication, training classes, grooming appointments, or apply it to a future package purchase. You can use your credits toward buying your pup a treat at the end of daycare or a self serve dog wash. Simply put, the credits can be used toward any service we offer and you don't have to drive to multiple locations or try to find a parking space each time you need one of these services. It is all under one roof with free parking in the heart of the City.
On a final note, the cost of going to one location to get all of your ancillary pet care needs is not insignificant. As gas prices are now predicted to be going to $5 - $7/gallon, being able to get everything you need for your dog or cat in one place with free parking (on the North side of our building between truck bays 74 - 79, our dedicated area) should help you save time and money.
Come check us out and if you like what you see, put your toe in . . .the waters fine!
